IIHCP Policies and Procedures

Students making application to enroll in Midwifery Programs must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be fluent in English
  • Hold a high school diploma, or its equivalent
  • Have 3 college credits in Math and English OR Demonstrate competencies by passing the College Level Equivalent Proficiency (CLEP) OR Have passed the College Level Academic Scholastic Test (CLAST)
  • Submit a completed Application
  • Complete a personal interview with Admissions Personnel.
  • After acceptance, students must submit a $150 Enrollment Fee.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION: All students who are attending IIHCP for the first time are required to attend an orientation class. Orientation class is a 1 credit hour class. There is no charge for the class; however, it will appear on the student transcript.

NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY: International Institute for Health Care Professionals (IIHCP) admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, disability, marital status, and/or religion to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the organization. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, disability, marital status and/or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, loan programs, hiring practices, and other organization-administered programs.

Should a student be terminated or cancel for any reason, all refunds will be made according to the following refund schedule:

Cancellation must be made in writing and submitted in person or by certified mail.
All monies will be refunded if the student cancels within three (3) business days after signing the *Enrollment Agreement and making initial payment.
Cancellation after the third (3rd) business day, but before the first class, will result in a refund of all monies paid for tuition or fees for that term. Students who withdraw or terminate from a course or from school for any reason by the end of the last day of the second week of a semester will be refunded all tuition and fees paid for that term.**
Refunds will be processed within thirty (30) days of Cancellation Notice.

* The Enrollment Fee, a one time fee of $150, is due at the time of program enrollment and is to be submitted with the Enrollment Agreement.
**The first two weeks of each semester is open enrollment for dropping or adding courses for the semester.

WITHDRAWAL: If a student is absent more than five days due to illness the student will be withdrawn from class. The student may apply paid funds for the class when offered during the next twelve months. Proof of illness must be documented on letterhead by a physician. Death of a family member must be substantiated by a death certificate or death notice. There are no refunds given for consumable materials.

Any student who has paid all fees and is enrolled in a program cancelled by The IIHCP Institute may apply the fees to the same or a different class offered within 12 months or request a return of the fees paid. Students are required to make all requests in writing.

There is a $30.00 service fee for any returned checks. Upon notification of a returned check, the student must clear the debt within 24 hours after receiving notice. If the notice is received on the day before a holiday or on a Friday or a weekend day the debt must be cleared by the first 24 hours of the next business day. Returned checks may be redeemed from the Administrative Office Secretary by paying in cash, certified check, or by money order. Noncompliance will result in action to have the student immediately dismissed from the institution.

Enrollment Fee is $150. Tuition is $210 per credit hour. IIHCP is a private Institute and is not subsidized by the Government, nor are students eligible for Federal Grants or loans.
Students are responsible for the purchase of supplies, equipment, texts, liability insurance, travel, and room and board at clinical sites. Tuition fees are due at each Term’s Registration. Fees may be subject to change.

All fees and policies are subject to revision

Advanced Standing may be granted for students with prior nursing or midwifery education. As mandated in Florida Statue 467 (F.S. 467), previous student education will be assessed on an individual basis. “In no case shall the training be reduced to a period of less than 2 years” F.S.467.009 (2). Credit for previous education will be evaluated and granted when appropriate. If credit is granted, both education time and tuition will be reduced proportionately. The student’s contract will clearly state the specific tuition cost, courses and number of credit hours needed for completion of the program.

STUDENT LIABILITY INSURANCE: Students are required to be covered by liability (malpractice) insurance. The insurance policies must be renewed annually, are non-refundable and can not be prorated. The cost will be posted each semester. Students will pay for liability insurance per a separate agreement. Liability insurance is not covered by tuition fees.

CLINICAL SITE EXPENSES: Students are responsible for the expenses related to travel, and room and board to attend clinical sites. School is responsible to find clinical site for the midwifery students. All expenses will be left to pay expenses.

EQUIPMENT AND TEXTS: Students are responsible for the purchase of supplies, equipment and texts. Lists will be provided at the Student Orientations. Students can expect to pay $50 to $100 per term for textbooks and approximately $750 for supplies and equipment during the program.
